Wauters Automotive rebrands to Edge Esports

On 22nd of February, Wauters Automotive announced that they would rebrand to Edge Esports effective immediately. The move came after a very succesfull 2017, and a desire of the Belgian outfit to push for more during their next season in simracing. The slogan for the newly branded team will be “Simracing on the edge of adhesion” and both name and slogan perfectly capture the most important values the team wants to live by while competing in the following years, as team boss Andreas Wauters explained:

” With the recent growth of both simracing as a whole, and our team, it was very clear to us that we had to take action. Our drivers are highly skilled and are able to compete and beat some of the best racers in the sport, so as a team we felt obliged to take it up a notch. Edge esports and the associated slogan perfectly capture our intention to take our performance to the very limit of what we can do, both on track and on an organisational level. The brand is a fresh new start for us that also fits better in our “one expert for each expertise” policy. Running the wauters automotive team ceased to be a one man job a long time ago, so it seemed only fitting that it wouldn’t be named after only one member of the team, but rather become an entity that each of our teammembers can identify and associate themselves with. We are now ready to accelerate our growth even more, so stay tuned, you will hear a lot about us in the next year.”

From the start of 2018, the team has also been involved in the belgian BRYO (BRight and YOung), an affordable coaching & workshop course that focuses on guiding young and innovative startups from concept, through marketing study, through setting up a realistic businessplan all the way up to starting up a sustainable business and scaling it up exponentially. The change of name will also allow the team to present their brand better to potential partners, in an effort to achieve this state of self sustenance and growth.
